This snack mix is…well, everything! I made this for our family game night not too long ago, and it has been a hit ever since. I love the wasabi peas it adds a little kick. Our all-time favorite snack mix is this Original Chex Mix – with a kick. I make it several time a year and I usually make a double batch for the holiday’s when we have a house full of guests. This one is a great alternative and is really different than the traditional.
- 4 cups honey nut cereal, such as Chex
- 2 cups salted pretzel sticks, hollows, or squares
- 2 cups grooved Cheddar crackers, such as Cheeze-it
Summer is officially here! These corn cakes are the first dish I make every year around this time to kick off the season. They have all the flavors of summer combined into one delicious dish. We usually eat them as a meal all on their own but recently I made them to go with my Grilled Vegetables over Farro it was the perfect match. What is the one dish you make to kick off summer?
- 3 ear yellow corn
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced fresh basil
- 1 tbsp. diced jalapeno
Shame on me for leaving this recipe a secret for sooo long. This is one of the easiest appetizer recipes I have ever created. Gosh, I think I came up with this recipe 10 plus years ago. I remember I needed to bring a dish to a gathering and I was seriously short on time. After scouring my pantry and refrigerator for ingredients I came up with this recipe according to what I had on hand. They were a huge hit and I have made them many times since then.
This past weekend we were invited to some friends house for a Halloween light show and thought I would whip up a batch to bring along as a treat. These awesome treats were devoured in minutes with people begging for the recipe. I’m so glad they are super easy to make, next time I will be sure to make 2 batches!
Winter stinks.period. All I can do is count down the days until the first day of Spring, actually I start getting super excited on March 1st because in my mind spring is knocking on the door. After these past couple of week with frigid weather I was really in the mood for something that reminds me of summer. Mexican was the first thing that came to mind really it was more salsa verde that came to mind. We have Mexican all year round but I don’t make as much homemade salsa int eh winter since the ingredients needed are not at their peak. This weekend I was craving some homemade salsa and I wanted to make Salsa Verde along with it for an enchilada dish I will be sharing later! This was only the second or 3rd time I have made salsa verde and I couldn’t remember what recipe I used the last time I made it so I decided to wing it. It was way better than the versions I have made in the past. I love it when I can just throw things together and make something delicious. I hope you make this soon in anticipation of warmer days. I know they are just around the corner!
The first time I made this dip was for Lucy’s first birthday party and it was a huge hit. I make it every chance I get because I simply can’t get enough of it. Growing up in the south pimento cheese was a staple in our house so you can imagine my excitement when I ran across this dip on Pink Parsley’s site, I knew I had to make it and fast! This pan of gooey cheesy goodness has so much flavor and is perfect to take with you to a Super Bowl party this weekend. You better make sure you bring plenty of copies of this recipe with you because everyone will want it!

- 1/4 cup Sour Cream
- 6 oz. Cream Cheese
- 3/4 cup Roasted Red Pepper, diced
